Meet the Staff
Tracy DuPrez, DVM (Owner)
I have worked in the field of veterinary medicine for over 20 years. I first worked as a receptionist and veterinary assistant, and then attended veterinary school at the University of California, Davis, graduating in 2001. I worked as an associate first at Cordova Veterinary Hospital in the Sacramento area for 3 years, then at Alosta Animal Hospital in Glendora for 5 years. I am now the owner of Valley Animal Hospital.
This is an incredibly rewarding profession for me. I have never been without cats and dogs in my life, and I understand how important pets are to my clients. I strive to honor that bond and do the best I can to ensure the health and well-being of my patients.
I am a So Cal native, having grown up in Glendora and currently living in La Verne. I have 2 cats (Shelby and Guinness) and 3 dogs (McDuff, Jake and Melody). In my spare time, I play the violin and enjoy tennis.
Katherine Wade, DVM
I joined the staff of Valley Animal Hospital in July 2011. I am a graduate of Western College of Health Sciences Veterinary Program in Pomona. I have been practicing general veterinary medicine and surgery since then. I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts but I love living in Southern California.
Melania Gharakhanian, DVM
Dr. Gharakhanian is a graduate of UC Davis who joined our practice in October of 2012. She recently moved to the area and has adopted her dog Joey.
Kenneth Cox, DVM
(Dr. Cox no longer works regular shifts but is still available for orthopedic surgery and relief work)
I have lived in the Inland Empire for my entire life. I was born in San Bernardino and grew up working on an egg ranch in the area. I attended San Bernardino Valley College, and then transferred to the University of California at Davis, where I received my bachelor’s and DVM degree.
I began working at Valley Animal Hospital in 1968, became full owner in 1989, and ran the practice until 2009, when I sold the practice to Dr. DuPrez. I have a passion for veterinary medicine and continue to practice part-time. I have an interest in orthopedic surgery, especially patellar luxation repair and cruciate ligament surgery.
After 42 years, I can say it is a joy to serve the people of this community and their pets. I look forward to doing this for many more.
